    Liquidation Alert
    bybit2024-04-18 12:14:50

Bybit has launched a feature — Liquidation Alert — that allows traders to deploy strategies early in their Derivatives trading to reduce the risk of liquidation.

You’ll receive an alert — via email, SMS and app notification (if any) — to manage your position when the mark price trends closely toward your liquidation price — that is, 25% of the remaining contract value.

This feature is applicable to USDT Perpetual, Inverse Perpetual and Inverse Futures contracts.

    Examples

    Long Position

Trader A holds a 1 BTCUSDT position, with the following factors:

    Entry price: $41,940.20

    Leverage: 10x

    Liquidation price: $37,956
    Bankruptcy Price: $37,746.18

    Formula

25% Entry Price + 75% Liquidation Price ≥ Mark Price > Liquidation Price

    The calculation is as follows:

    0.25 × $41,940.20 + 75% × 37,956 = $38,952.05

    Liquidation Price = $37,956

    $38,952.05 ≥ Mark Price > $37,956

Therefore, when the mark price is between $38,952.05 and $37,956, Trader A will receive a liquidation alert.

    Short Position

Trader B holds a 1 BTCUSDT position, with the following factors:

    Entry price: $41,894.80

    Leverage: 10x

    Liquidation price: $45,874.50
    Bankruptcy Price: $46,084.28

    Formula

Liquidation Price > Mark Price ≥ 25% Entry Price + 75% Liquidation Price

    The calculation is as follows:

    0.25 × $41,894.80 + 75% × 45,874.50 = $44,879.58

    Liquidation price = $45,874.50

    45,874.50 > Mark Price ≥ $44,879.58

Therefore, when the mark price is between $44,879.58 and $45,874.50, Trader B will receive a liquidation alert.

    Notes:
    — It is strongly recommended for users to continue monitoring their positions in case of liquidation alert delay or glitch. Bybit will not be held responsible for liquidations resulting directly or indirectly from this alert feature’s malfunction.
Each position receives only one alert every 24 hours. The alert will be reset every 24 hours, starting from the first triggered alert of the position.
The trigger price of the liquidation alert will be updated according to the liquidation price changes of the position. However, after the liquidation alert for the existing position has been triggered, the next liquidation alert will only be triggered after 24 hours. Any modification of the position leverage modification, changes in position size or partial closing of position will not reset the timing of the liquidation alert.

    — When a trader closes an existing position or opens a new position, the alert cycle will be fully reset accordingly to the new position.
Currently, the liquidation alert cannot be turned off.
